Paying the application fee There is an application fee for this application and must be received before we can begin processing your application. Please contact the City of Lake Mills at 1 (920-648 -2344) to coordinate payment.

In addition to the up-front application fee, you will be responsible for paying any professional charge-back fees related to the review of this application. You will receive an invoice from the City detailing those charges.

Application fee:

Project 10 Acres or more: $150 and developer's deposit of $2,500
Project less than 10 Acres: $150, plus developer's deposit of $1,500

+ - Can a decision made by the Zoning Administrator be appealed?

The Zoning Administrator is authorized to make various decisions which are administrative in nature. All such decisions can be appealed to the Board of Appeals. An appeal must be made soon after the administrator's decision.

+ - What is a determination of completeness?

When we receive a development application, staff will review the materials to make sure the application submittal is complete and ready for formal review. If an application submittal is not complete, staff will notify the applicant and describe the parts that are not complete.

A determination that an application is complete means the application is ready for formal review and does not suggest the applicant has provided sufficient information in all regards or preclude the reviewing authority from requesting additional information it deems appropriate.

+ - What is a developer's deposit?

For some types of development reviews, the City requires an upfront payment that is used to pay for the time spent by the City engineer, attorney, planner, or other professional in reviewing the application. In that way, City taxpayers aren't paying for the cost of development activities. The amount of the deposit is determined on a case-by-case basis. Any money left in the deposit will be returned after the review has been completed.
